What I think…

As we navigate an era of rapid digital transformation, it is imperative to expand and protect the scope of human rights within this evolving context. We stand at a pivotal moment in history—perhaps the last generation with the ability to meaningfully shape our digital future.

Digital literacy must become a fundamental skill for all citizens. This includes the ability to critically engage with media, safeguard personal privacy, and assert one’s rights within digital spaces.

The protection of digital rights requires a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach—one that integrates law, governance, and education. A robust legal framework empowers competent authorities to issue clear guidelines and ensure accountability. At the same time, digital literacy equips individuals and communities with the tools needed to navigate these environments safely and effectively.

These components form a mutually reinforcing cycle: regulation underpins good governance, governance supports inclusive education, and education cultivates a culture of rights awareness and resilience. Together, they lay the foundation for a digital society that is not only innovative, but also just, inclusive, and rights-respecting.
